Floods across Southeast Asia cause billions in damage

Torrential rainfall continues to devastate Southeast Asia, with Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand facing widespread flooding.
Millions have been affected, with thousands evacuated from inundated communities.
In Vietnam, at least 100 ...
people have been killed, and over 200,000 homes submerged, with the economic cost estimated to exceed $8 billion.
Emergency workers and military personnel are battling high waters to deliver aid and conduct rescue operations.
In Thailand’s southern city of Hat Yai, authorities issued a ‘red flag’ evacuation order as floodwaters continue to rise.
Meanwhile, the ancient capital Ayuthaya faces water levels as deep as three metres, threatening historic sites and claiming lives—at least 20 people have died in the region.
In Vietnam, relief efforts remain underway, while families struggle to salvage belongings from homes destroyed by the floods.
The human and economic toll continues to rise as the region braces for more rain.
