Rishi Sunak has been announced as the UK’s next prime minister.
Chair of the 1922 Committee of Conservative MPs, Sir Graham Brady, declared that Mr Sunak had passed the threshold of 100 nominations from Tory MPs, while both Boris Johnson and Penny Mourdant pulled out the contest.
