German wine! No thank you?! So you think Germans only drink beer and can therefore just brew great beer above all? They can do that alright. But the Germans also make wines that are treasured around the world. Take riesling, to start! There are loads of vineyards, especially in southwestern Germany. The Germans love wine, too. When it comes to per capita consumption, they’re up there in the top ten. Euromaxx reporter Hannah Hummel explores German vineyards for a new episode of “Germany in a Nutshell.” She speaks with vintners about what makes German wines special and the which, where and how of drinking these wines.
